Dawn
02:21
|
|||
Nobody knows of all the pain and all the sorrow that put my bones here, mouldering in the ground, that set the seven devils wild free in my soul, seven devils filled with flaming rage unbound.
For all the sins they put against my kin, I found those men, the murderous eight. Those men my devils chained dark shadows to, they died dragging shadows ten times their weight

Vengeful Sins
04:24
|
|||
Sing to me of pleasures past of vengeful sins untold, sing to me of binding ropes of rusting steel, nails and wire, heart full of vengeance, poured out blood, blood poured devil, twisting red
Flowers of flesh torn red and blue, devils twisting in a blood red dust, the edges of all vision fails, vengeful sins near all told,
Oh sing to me of pleasures past of vengeful sins untold, the scarlet trail of splintered glass on clot dried sand and stone
Sing to me of binding ropes of rusting steel, nails and wire, heart full of vengeance, poured out blood, blood poured devil, twisting red.
Sing to me of pleasures past of vengeful sins untold, the scarlet trail of splintered glass on clot dried sand and stone.

He was the son, the son of a preacherman, he was the son, the son of a preacherman. He told you lies, and people died. He was the son, the son of a preacherman

In Shadows Deep
04:43
|
|||
I stuck it sideways with a knife, stuck it in deep, it didn’t die, stuck it in sideways with a knife, it didn’t die, it didn’t die.
Beat it hard with a miner’s pick, struck it hard, it didn’t die, struck it hard with a miner’s pick, it still lives, it did not die.
Cut it at the legs with a rusty scythe, it did not fall, it did not die, cut it five times more with a rusty scythe, it still lives, it did not die.
I shot it twice with my Walker Colt, through its skull I shot it twice, I shot it twice with my Walker Colt, It did not die, it did not die
I see it still in the shadows there, in the shadows where I’m still there, the dark is where I’m cursed to be, can’t kill the beast if the beast is me

The Crying Ghost
05:29
|
|||
The crying wolves sing to the moon
A chill wind creeping on desert sand
Fans the embers of a campfire glow
You see her face in the dancing flame
The clouds pull across the moon
Rattlesnakes twist and turn
It lives with you now
Dead soul of she, you left behind
The steers and horses are all bedded down
The gang you rode with all sleeping now
You’re awake, can’t sleep at all
She lies with you, the crying ghost
chorus
Not the men you killed in bar room fights
Nor the orphans and widows that you made
Haunts your dreams in the dead of night
But the girl who died in Knoxville town
chorus
The crying wolves sing to the moon
A chill wind creeping on desert sand
Fans the embers of a campfire glow
You see her face in the dancing flame
Chorus

|
|||
Ah, little lad, you're staring at my fingers. Would you like me to tell you the little story of right-hand, left-hand? The story of good and evil?

Old brother left-hand, left-hand hates a-fighting, and it looks like Love's a goner. But wait a minute! Hot dog!lLove's a-winnin, yes, sirree. It's Love that won, and old left-hand hate is down for the count.

Bloodslain
03:26
|
|||
The sun brings in each morning the dead without hands, shambling windblown corpses crawl across the land, all to a man all slain by the only man who can kill angels and devils with a bloodslain God cursed hand
Seven long dead sisters with shroud covered eyes, guide the trail of Bludbox with windswept whispered sighs. The desert sands are shifting and the sun it burns on down. The night will bring in Bludbox, turning Hell loose on that town
From a filled out blooded red pool, a red oasis in the sand, finger bones point west, to a God cursed bloodslain hand. Seven deadly sinners, twisting up on high, righteous swinging breathless as Bludbox rides on by
The desert sands are shifting and the sun it burns on down, the night will bring in Bludbox, turning Hell loose on that town. Now the ghosts of all I’ve told will come to you tonight, because you listened to my story, you ate the cold dark light

Noose of Maladon
02:56
|
|||
I dreamt I went to Heaven amongst the angels fair, I never seen so handsome that twining golden hair
They looked so neat they sang so sweet and played the golden harp, I was about to pick one out and take her to my heart
The moment I began to plea I thought of you my love, there’s none I seen so beautiful on earth or Heaven above
Well now the dream is ended and the angels have all gone, devils I see around me and the noose of Maladon

Kitty Bohannon
02:55
|
|||
Kitty Bohannon had a man so fine and fair was he, Billy Bohannon he took care of his wife and babes all three.
Then Billy Bohannon got hung for stealing for his family, leaving Kitty and the babes in hunger and in misery, and she cursed into the wind. And the howling ghosts spun around and around her head
Kitty Bohannon picked up her babes and wrapped them tight and warm, then she stole into the woods at night. She pierced those three babes to the heart and cursed into the wind, and the howling ghosts spun around her head to see such a dreadful thing.

Demon Riders
04:22
|
|||
Samuel Bernard came a busting in the bar, eyes wide and swivelling, and his mouth agape ajar. Guttering sounds he made, pointing back outside, with fingers all a trembling, pointing at the night
He spat out a crazy tale, of beasts of blood and bone, riding through the desert night with eyes of burning fire. Grey skinned demons lead the herd with death black mirror eyes
The beasts they never touched the ground but galloped upon high, We grabbed up old Samuel and drug him up outside, said Samuel you’re drunk again get on home back to your wife
Samuel he never spoke, his eyes were screaming wide, staring out to a distant glow a dancing in the night. The things that old Samuel seen turned out true to be, the demon crew and ghostly herd came bearing down on us
They took the folk and livestock they emptied out the town
Now we are the blood bone herd riding night till dawn

Dust and Bones
03:42
|
|||
Where have all your brave boys gone?
Six feet under, dust and bone.
Where have all the young men gone?
Sunk and drowned six fathoms down.
Where are you now my bully boys?
Lying broken in the sun.
Soldier blue where have you gone?
Six feet under, dust and bone.
Where did all the sailors go?
Sunk and drowned six fathoms down.
