Samuel Bernard came a busting in the bar, eyes wide and swivelling, and his mouth agape ajar. Guttering sounds he made, pointing back outside, with fingers all a trembling, pointing at the night
He spat out a crazy tale, of beasts of blood and bone, riding through the desert night with eyes of burning fire. Grey skinned demons lead the herd with death black mirror eyes
The beasts they never touched the ground but galloped upon high, We grabbed up old Samuel and drug him up outside, said Samuel you’re drunk again get on home back to your wife
Samuel he never spoke, his eyes were screaming wide, staring out to a distant glow a dancing in the night. The things that old Samuel seen turned out true to be, the demon crew and ghostly herd came bearing down on us
They took the folk and livestock they emptied out the town
Now we are the blood bone herd riding night till dawn
