Kitty Bohannon had a man so fine and fair was he, Billy Bohannon he took care of his wife and babes all three.
Then Billy Bohannon got hung for stealing for his family, leaving Kitty and the babes in hunger and in misery, and she cursed into the wind. And the howling ghosts spun around and around her head
Kitty Bohannon picked up her babes and wrapped them tight and warm, then she stole into the woods at night. She pierced those three babes to the heart and cursed into the wind, and the howling ghosts spun around her head to see such a dreadful thing.
