The Moon put a shadow long and still upon Mockingbird Hill
And her dreaming eyes green drew him in closer still
And their lips touched in the cold night air, holding hands against the chill
And their lips touched in the cold night air on Mockingbird Hill.
He whispered, ‘ I love you’
And the light shone from her eyes, she looked at him and said,
‘ Yeah baby, I love you too’
And the breeze on the leaves hid the steps moving in closer still
And a moth hit the lights and the shadows flickered closer still
While their lips pressed together holding tight against the night air chill
And the flickering shadows leapt and danced atop Mockingbird Hill
And the creeping shadows stopped their breath and made their hearts cold still
And they put out the light from her eyes on Mockingbird Hill.
