Me and my boys took a trip to Southern Kentucky
To take the liver of a man who drank the wine
Made by the Farrell family.
Claggy Bartlett was his name, he was a sheriff in Paducah city
He was as long as he was wide, he was the widest longpig you ever did see
Now moonshine sets your liver rotten hard
But not so Farrell wine, Bartlett’s liver turned to paté.
With an exquisite bouquet, impossible to define
His liver ran through our fingers
Down into the pails we brought
And when we brought him back we sold him packed
From our family butchers stall
Well we did that trip to Old Kentucky
My boys and I we took the liver
Of the man who was the sheriff in Paducah City
The Polks and the Farrells are distant cousins of mine
Separated back, along in time
The Polks and the Wattingers gone down the butcher’s line
The Farrells have their ‘druthers in the moonshine wine

Dead Man's Hat

Dead Man’s Hat
What goes up when the rain comes down?
A dead man’s hat.
Stackalee was a bad man
Shot Jethro three times dead
Whose soul escaped his body
Into the hat upon his head
Chorus:
What goes up when the rain comes down?
A dead man’s hat.
Cattle are all spooked
Crying baby in your arms
Dog bolts out the yard
Rats all leave the farm
What goes up when the rain comes down?
A dead man’s hat.
Dead eyed black heart Jethro
Been dead a long time gone
The evil in his hat
Lingers on and on
Chorus
The evil hat could not be worn
Though many a brave soul tried
Everything it touched
Shrivelled up and died.
Chorus

Evil Driving Rain

Evil Driving Rain
Evil rain’s a falling from clouds of bible black
And burning bolts of lightning spit and hiss and crack
The storm’s bringing sorrow, the storm’s bringing pain
The storm’s a bringing madness, with evil driving rain
Chorus: Evil driving rain boys,
Evil driving rain,
Evil driving rain boys,
Evil driving rain,
Rolling thunder hides the wailing mournful cries,
Clouds swirling dark, like blood from a bursting heart
Broken body, broken soul! Broken body broken soul!
Tortured and all withered, when the cruel wind blows
Shapes shifting in the swamp below
Haloed in a luminous glow
Can’t name the fear that chills your blood
Of the shuffling forms sliding through the mud
All hope seeps away into the seething bubbling mire
Sparks the dead alive, unholy Elmo’s Fire
Brings water and the dead to the fires of Hell
All is well, all is well
Brings water and the dead to the fires of Hell,
All is well all is well

55 Gallon Drum
Oh happy glorious sunny day!
The sun is shining just for me
I found him hanging in the tree
I cut him bits one two and three
To fit in my sack and take him back
To my 55 gallon drum
My next stop is the barber’ shop
Where many razored hands
Let severed heads drop
To the floor, no use to the body anymore
A sackfull of heads then swept away
Into the sack bought in today
To take away to my 55 gallon drum
Oh rapturous glorious sunny day!
Frabjous joy! Callooh calay!
The sun it shines, shines just for me
My drum’s full to the brim
Blood to the brim,to the lid
To the brim, oh happy day!
Oh happy day callooh callay!

Long Road Too Far
The road is long
The road is long
10.000 miles
Lord hear our song
Oh hear us Lord
Hear my song
And the sun beat down
Oh the sun beat down
The sun beat down
And the trail is hard
Yes the trail is hard
10.000 miles
We took a long walk
We took a long walk
10.000 miles
Hot summer’s day
Oh hear us Lord
Hear my song
And I froze to death
Oh the sun beat down
The sun beat down
Oh hear us Lord
The road’s too long
10.000 miles

Bad Day at Growler’s Rock
It’s a bad day for Captain Jack at Growler’s Rock
It’s a bad day for Captain Jack at Growler’s Rock
It’s a bad day for Captain Jack at Growler’s Rock
We found him in the ‘groves in the water at Growler’s Creek
We found him in the ‘groves in the water at Growler’s Creek
He’d fallen from the ship, so weak he could hardly speak
Said my airship burst and dropped right out of the sky,
My crew’s all dead hanging up in trees nearby
Now spare my life and I’ll make it your worthwhile.
Chorus: It’s a bad day…
Please O Lord he cried, spare my life
I’m Captain Jack and I don’t want to die
Spare my life and I’ll tell you why
I’m a wealthy and important man said he
I’m a wealthy and important man said he
I’ll see you right if you’d let me be.
Chorus: It’s a bad day…
I’ll give you money and gold and fancy clothes said he
I’ll give you money and gold and fancy clothes said he
If you spare my life and set me free
What care I for your money and gold? said I
What care I for your fancy clothes? said I
Where I come from I’m bound to take your life.
Chorus: It’s a bad day…

Aaron Jacobson Had A Twin
Aaron Jacobson had a twin
That lived deep inside of him
Attached from within by an umbilical thread
It slipped put at night whilst Aaron slept in his bed
A glimpse of him was such a blessed thing
A touch could bring wealth more than acquired by a king
The Church of Ezekial canonised him
Elusive, nocturnal almost never seen
Now Cain was Jacobson’s friend and one night
He resolved to get hold of the twin parasite
For money and wealth and good luck he did seek
So he hid in the grass till Aaron was asleep
It was dark and the crickets chirp drowned out the sound
Of the creeping out creature as it dropped to the ground
Cain he upped and he grabbed it, it gave out a squeal
It pulled hard on the chord like a flash it disappeared
For treasures unheard of Cain would not let go
Unsurprising Aaron awoke from the incursion below
At that point neither Aaron nor Cain were aware
Of the third twin inside, of gristle, teeth and hair
It bit down thrice twice twice, and thrice and twice again
On the impudent fist of that greedy man Cain
Whose hand was left severed in Jacobson’s ass
As he whimpered and scampered through the blood splattered grass

(Zen Guerilla cover)
See the black train a roarin’ down
See the black train a roarin’ down
See the high wire as it bend and bows
See the high wire as it bend and bows
See the gap tooth of a one-eyed clown
See the gap tooth of a one-eyed clown
See the gap tooth of a one-eyed clown
See the gap tooth of a one-eyed clown
See the sweet girl try to hold home yeah
See the sweet girl try to hold home yeah
See the sweet girl in the hurricane
See the sweet girl in the hurricane
See the hard route that the river ran
See the hard route that the river ran
See the high ground that the river ran
See the high ground that the river ran
See the Luau with their heads held high
See the Luau with their head held high
See the high brow of a one-eyed man
See the high brow of a one-eyed man
Nothing’s fine
I’m going out of my mind
With the roaring tracks
That take me back
To when the gap-toothed clown
Said ’Burn this circus down yeah!’
See the high wire as it bend and bows
See the high wire as it bend and bows
See the gap tooth of a one-eyed clown
See the gap tooth of a one-eyed clown

Dirty Kisses
10 miles down from Lazy Town is a shack up in the woods And when the sun goes down
Out comes a floating girl all beautiful and dead
With black spider hair flowing from her ghostly head
She rides on the breeze down to Lazy Town
To find a living lover for when the sun’s gone down.
Well its ten miles down to the dead girl’s shack
Ten miles out, I ain’t ever coming back.
Dirty kisses in the evening, dirty kisses all through the night,
Dirty kisses in the morning, it’s so wrong but it feels so right.
She found me lying in the filth and mud
She pulled me up out of the gore and the mud
Took me in her arms and swept me up high
We drifted to the shack under a blood moon sky
Ten miles back to Lazy town,
I know I’ll never leave or see the sun go down
Ten miles back to the dead girl’s shack
Ten miles out, I ain’t ever coming back
Dirty kisses in the evening, dirty kisses all through the night
Dirty kisses in the morning, it’s so wrong but it feels so right.
